MILITIA IMMACULATAE

Mary entwined her Immaculate soul in the nets of the Most High in order to free us from the rough sea of the world and to captivate us in Her, like those 153 big fishes that Saint Peter received from the hands of Jesus Christ during the miraculous fishing.  Today, more than ever, these fishes find themselves confined in fishing nets, but will it be for a holiest life or an eternal death? today is the day of salvation.  The Virgin invites us to withdraw into ourselves for a deeper, more intimate, and uninterrupted contact with this supreme virtue of confidence and abandonment which is the special grace of Easter. After the Resurrection of our Good Shepherd, the sheep often feed on the fat pastures of their Shepherd without knowing how to continue the Lenten efforts and sometimes even wondering if it is necessary to continue them… because after all, this n is no longer Lent! this is how the herd descends again into the ravine and intertwines its coat in thorns and brambles. So what food to choose, dear sheep, in order to keep our fleece always beautiful and sparkling clean? Food is already familiar to us since it is the same as that of the Pastor: doing the will of the Father. But for the sheep which are still in the womb, let us run towards the divine Shepherdess, towards the Immaculate One who will nourish us with the will of the Father. This will of the Father, real substantial nourishment, consists of a delicious dish of which the Father Himself delights, namely, the humble and hidden virtues. O Immaculate, teach me to make good use of the solitude which surrounds me, so that it will not be change into idleness.  O Immaculate, teach me to make good use of the passivity that surrounds me so that it will not change into anxiety and lack of confidence in you. O Immaculate, may each temptation that presents itself serve as a springboard to your heart so that even if my body melt itself because of the lack of exercise, my soul however, can get fat from the milk of your love. I offer you each soul that passes away on this day in order to crush the doubts that surround me and to believe in you for all those who do not believe.  I offer you each soul that must give an account to its Judge and Lord in order to sharpen my hope for all those who do not hope.  I offer you each soul that weakens in the fight in order to truly love my neighbor for all those who do not love you.
